Here I am with the cookie tin - ready to go in one of the natural holes in the "bank" behind the rock. It fit perfectly in one of the holes, then I placed a rock in front of it.

The other picture is our Quads parked at the top of "Preacher's Pass". #

It was nice to get back out in the Desert on our Quads.
One of my favourite "runs" is to "Preacher's Pass" because it does challenge my riding ability as well as to remember which trail to take - as Bill always insists that I lead. (just to see if I know where to go...). Each time I pass this significant looking rock - I think - "I would like to have a Geocache here" so that is exactly what we did. I placed a Cache that I have called "Money in the Bank" and it has only pennies, a nickel and a dime in it.... The idea is: The note inside says..... If you believe in "find a Lucky Penny" - you take a penny. If you like to "Wish upon a penny" - you leave a penny.
The small cookie tin has 33 pennies (30 American and 3 Canadian).
Now, I will watch the Log Book and see what people prefer ..... If most take a penny - I will restock the pennies - It will be fun to see if it is self supporting....As I say - I like the ride so will go there often. #

Lake Mead is a desolate looking Lake - just like Lake Powell. The mountain right after is covered in Power lines.. (click on to enlarge) and the road following the dam was new and smooth with few travellers. #

We had an excellent flight back to Vegas - calm and smooth - arriving 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Since we had the day to sight see - we decided to take a different route back to Black Rock. We have never been over the Hoover Dam - we knew we would not see the actual dam as many people have told us ..but - it was well worth the drive as the surrounding country was very interesting.
This is what you could see of the dam as we drove over it..... #
